Today, we take a break from cricket and head to V&A Waterfront, which is a lovely harbour with the backdrop of the Table Mountain. The views from the harbour make for some amazing photos. From here, we board a ferry to Robben Island, which is known for the prison in which Nelson Mandela spent 18 years. The island is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On arrival, we proceed to the museum that will take you through a detailed history of the island and how it has shaped the development of the country that you know today. With an incredible 500 year old history, it is seldom missed by anyone who visits the region.

On arrival, check in to Gondwana Game Reserve. The terrain, restored to its natural beauty, consists of open grassland, undulating valleys, indigenous Fynbos and now herds of wildlife. Gondwana has re-introduced endangered species like the Cape Mountain Zebra and Black Rhinoceros and has a high diversity of antelope species such as Eland, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Bontebok, and Springbok.

In the afternoon, we proceed for a game drive to see these amazing beasts.

DAY 10

We spend the entire day on a game drive to explore this Big 5 reserve. The custom built vehicle takes you to the heart of the animals’ habitat. The early morning drive is the most sought after because the wildlife is most active during these hours. Thereafter, we head back for breakfast to the lodge and return for an afternoon drive when the animals are resting. Keep your cameras ready for some breathtaking shots!
