DAY 2

Time for some up-close encounters with space vehicles

Today, we head to the infamous Kennedy Space Centre to explore some of the most iconic crafts that have led to development in space research.

The KSC Up-Close Explore Tour takes you through launch pads, the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and the Shuttle Landing Facility. The tour stops in between the Kennedy Space Center launch pads for a close-up photo opportunity, in front of the VAB, and on the NASA Causeway where you can get a beautiful panoramic view.

Along the way, you can see the icon of the space program, the countdown clock, a mobile launcher used to move Apollo moon rockets and space shuttles to the launch pad, and the Operations and Checkout building, the departure point for astronauts traveling to the launch pad on the day of their mission.

Space Shuttle Atlantis showcases the priceless, historic spacecraft that tells the incredible story of NASA’s 30-year Space Shuttle Program. Space Shuttle Atlantis is displayed as only spacewalking astronauts have seen her before — rotated 43.21 degrees with payload doors open and its Canadarm (robotic arm) extended, as it has just undocked from the International Space Station.

DAY 3

Lunch with an astronaut?

Travel back in time to experience the very first Saturn V moon launch – Apollo 8 – from within the controlled chaos of the “firing room.” Walk beneath a massive Saturn V rocket that’s as long as a football field, touch a moon rock, and relive the harrowing first moon landing, Apollo 11.

Later, meet NASA’s all stars. The men and women who have gone into space as NASA astronauts are truly some of the greatest explorers the world has ever known. Now you can have lunch with an astronaut and meet one of these fascinating individuals in person. Imagine hearing about life in space from someone who has been there firsthand! You’ll enjoy a personal presentation by a veteran astronaut and an open question and answer session, guaranteeing this will be one lunch you’ll never forget.

Where will human space explorers go next? How will they get there? The new “Journey to Space” film explores NASA’s bold plans for deep space exploration using stunning space footage. Witness harrowing spacewalks performed to service the Hubble Space Telescope and the mind-blowing visions of far away galaxies and nebulas it has captured. We will be watching one of these amazing movies!

New York, here we come!

Welcome to the snazzy city where glitz and glamour is an everyday thing. Today we explore the city on a guided tour that shows us important highlights such as the infamous Central Park, colorful Times Square and of course the buildings that dominate the skyline in just about every photograph out there

Next up is the 102 storey Empire State Building, another icon of this city standing at 1454 feet high. It stood as the world’s tallest building for nearly 40 years, from its completion in early 1931 until the topping out of the original World Trade Center’s North Tower in late 1970. We take you to the observation deck where you tower over the entire city, a breathtaking view is promised!

Now we head to see the icon of New York. We doubt there is a single traveler who comes to this city and not see the Statue of Liberty. This UNESCO heritage site was made in collaboration with Gustave Eiffel (who was responsible for the steel framework). The statue designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a French sculptor and dedicated on October 28, 1886, was a gift to the United States from the people of France. Enjoy the magnificent structure that stands over 150 feet high
