Day-wise Itinerary

DAY 1

Welcome to South Africa!

Today embark on your exciting tour of South Africa. On arrival at Cape Town you will be greeted outside the baggage hall and transferred to your conveniently located hotel.

DAY 2


Enjoy the city sights of Cape Town.

This morning post breakfast we embark on a spectacular journey with a mix of independent sightseeing and guided visits of the Cape Peninsula, plus learn about the region from your expert guide makes the day. We cover around taking in all the highlights and breath-taking beauty of this world-renowned region. Explore Hout Bay, spend time at leisure in Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and visit Simon’s Town on the peninsula’s east coast – home to a colony of African penguins! On the drive back you will have time to stop for a walk at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

DAY 3


Explore the beautiful city of Cape Town.

After morning luscious breakfast, first half of the day we learn and understand the life of political prisoners including Nelson Mandela at Robben Island. For nearly 300 years, Robben Island was a place of isolation, where political prisoners, including Nelson Mandela, were imprisoned and cut off from the rest of the world. It also served as a voluntary sanctuary for lepers. Despite this unsavory past, Robben Island is an important piece of South Africa’s history, as well as a reminder of the difficult road to South African Democracy and the victory over apartheid. What better than being guided by people who were prisoners in this very island!

After the tour ends, we proceed for Table Mountain. As the name suggests, the mountain flattens to a width of almost 3 kilometres making it one of the most famous landmarks of Cape Town. So much so that it features on the town’s flag! The thousand odd metre tall mountains is a treat for anyone on top, don’t worry, we are not going to walk it up, a cable car is present to do the job! Hold your breath for the next sightseeing as we explore on an unusual journey.

DAY 4


Knysna!

Today after breakfast, we will continue our onward journey to Knysna, which is a town in the heart of South Africa’s beautiful Garden Route just east of Cape Town. It lies nestled between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean. The drive to Knysna would be around 6hrs 30mins. On reaching Knysna we check into the hotel. In the evening we proceed for Knysna Lagoon cruise. There is no better way to end off the day on a relaxing boat cruise and taking in the magnificence of Knysna as the African sun starts to set over the lagoon.

DAY 5


Onto Oudtshoorn – ‘The Feather Capital of the World’. Visit Cango Caves, Ostrich Farm, Cheetah Ranch and Crocodile Enclosure.

Post breakfast today we explore the Ostrich capital of the World – Oudtshoorn, a town in Klein Karoo between the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountains. The region is home to the spectacular Cango Caves, Africa’s largest show cave system; an ecological hotspot where three distinct plant biomes (succulent karoo, cape thicket and fynbos) converge; and the Swartberg mountain range. The oldest and biggest cheetah contact centre world-wide offers visitors the rare opportunity of interacting with our hand-reared cheetahs and getting actively involved in saving this species and others from extinction. For the adventurous we offer face to face encounters with wildlife in our Natural Encounters programme where you can touch a cheetah, enjoy the closeness of a tiger cub, wrap yourself in a python and even dive with Nile crocodiles A visit to Oudtshoorn would be incomplete without including Safari Ostrich Show Farm on your itinerary. Situated in the heart of “Ostrich Country” and only 7km from Oudtshoorn, Safari has been in operation since 1956. During the course of the tour the guide will explain every aspect of ostrich farming, from breeding to rearing. A highly entertaining and educational tour is guaranteed.

DAY 6


Gold Reef Tour

Post breakfast we proceed to Port Elizabeth in order to take our onward flight to Johannesburg. On arrival we will be transferred to the hotel. Later in the afternoon we will proceed for Gold Reef City tour. Built around an authentic 19th century gold mine, Gold Reef City brings together fascinating historical attractions with some of the most thrilling rides in the southern hemisphere. Spend half a day in this city that successfully combines an old-world museum atmosphere with some of the wildest rides south of the equator. Join the young at heart and test-drive any of the more than thirty adrenaline-boosting rides.

DAY 7


Cradle of humankind.

Today post breakfast we proceed for full day tour of the birthplace of humanity – The Cradle Of Humankind. Did you ever wish to return to the place of origin and see what it was like back then? Your quest for this will be solved today as we gear up for a full day tour of The Cradle of the Humankind. Explore the place where our ancestors have lived for more than 3-million years. You can enjoy the rest of the day pondering over the rich history that the country possesses.

DAY 8


BMW Factory, First National (FNB) Stadium,  Constitution Hill and the Satyagraha House.

After breakfast, we have three letters that just about anyone wants to own, BMW. No, you will not be gifted one however you will get to see how these beauties are made. BMW Rosslyn, the company’s plant in South Africa manufactures cars not only for domestic use but also exports. We proceed on a tour of the factory where you will see in production the very cars which you aspire to own someday. As a haven for technology, this factory is testimony to the advancements the company is credited with and known for; the transformation of a sheet of metal into a dream-inducing machine will leave visitors with one of the best memories of this country.

For the afternoon, we have the First National (FNB) Stadium, the largest in South Africa with a capacity of 94,736. The site is famous for not one but two major events, the first being the 2010 World Cup which many of us would know. The second is Nelson Mandela’s first speech in Johannesburg after his release in 1990 which was held in this very place! Take a tour of the stadium and soak in the roar of thousands.

We now trace South Africa’s history a few hundred years at the Constitution Hill, the seat of South Africa’s highest court. Various buildings here will take you through the journey of apartheid and democracy. Some notable visits here include the Number Four, Old Fort and the Women’s Gaol. Finally you experience the place in the footsteps of none other than Nelson Mandela whose 55 years of history with the Constitution Hill will take you right up to the time where democracy dawned in the country.

Our final destination in the country ends with a place that saw the Father of our Nation reside in. Satyagraha House, now a museum and guest house was once residence to Mahatma Gandhi who worked from here. Stroll through the tranquil rooms and gardens before we head back to our hotel for our last dinner in South Africa.

DAY 9


Pilanesburg

Post breakfast today, a scenic ride away is the Pilanesberg National Park, spread over an area of 572 square kilometers. It is home not only to wide variety of animals but also rock formations, minerals and is one of the largest volcano complexes. Our visit to the park begins with a game drive through the park in an open safari vehicle will get us close to creatures often seen only behind cages. Hold on to the railings as the rangers tell you their stories of hunts by the beasts. Head back to Johannesburg in the evening after a wild day.

DAY 10

Fly back home

Today post breakfast, proceed to the airport for your flight back home with wonderful memories of your wonderful trip to South Africa.
