In groups, students will set off on a full or half day hike.  Students will be instructed on the use of both maps and compasses and may be given the opportunity to use their skills to navigate for the group.  There will be a series of environmental awareness games along the way.  The games and exercises will focus on wildlife, habitats, food chains and human impact on the environment.

Summit quest – The Berneuse is a mountain of the western Bernese Alps, above Leysin in the canton of Vaud. It lies on the range east of the Rhone valley, culminating at the Tour d’Aï. Its summit (2,045 m) is a popular destination, accessible by cable cabin from town. On a clear day, Lake Geneva is visible from this summit.

Now, students will play the role of detectives, in charge of discovering who is exacerbating the planet’s climate change. They will be given clue sheets and will have to find the suspects, hidden in the building.

A short drive away is the picturesque town of Montreaux, located on Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps. We explore this lovely little town whose history dates back to as early as the 5th century thanks to a Roman villa that stands as proof. Part our trip is a visit to a shopping centre to pick up souvenirs for our folks back home.

We head next to UN – Housed at the Palais des Nations, the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) serves as the representative office of the Secretary-General at Geneva. A focal point for multilateral diplomacy, UNOG services more than 8,000 meetings every year, making it one of the busiest conference centres in the world. With more than 1,600 staff, it is the biggest duty stations outside of United Nations headquarters in New York.

We wrap up this amazing trip with a fun party wherein you will be presented with certificates and awards!
